On binder fit

Bodies are different, and the fit of a binder is affected by the body’s proportions and composition. Soft tissue like fat is more malleable than harder tissues like muscle and bone, and the body’s measurements in and of themselves don’t reflect the body’s composition.

The same binder can feel very different for two people with the same measurements if one has a wider rib cage with mostly muscle on top and the other has more fat tissue. Torsos can be wider or narrower but still have the same circumference, which affects the fit of the front: some have extra room in front of the arm hole, and for some it can be a bit too snug.

How tight a binder feels is also very subjective, and people with low tolerance for constrictive clothing may want to go size up. Then again, others hardly even notice wearing a binder in the correct size, and might even enjoy feeling the compression.

That being said, most of my customers have been very happy with their binders both in terms of effectiveness and comfort when ordering based on the size chart. But if you have any questions or issues with sizing, please contact me, I would be happy to help.
